I finally got up the nerve to make my first batch. It turned out well - Honey Oatmeal with goats milk. It did turn out darker than I expected (and I kept it below 140) and my scent didn't seemed to stay but I am happy with it. The batch did have some much darker spots on the bottom of the slab when I turned it out of the box form. I'm guessing those spots are from getting too hot - maybe in the form because I did put plastic wrap on with 2 bath towels over that. Question is now to let it cure. Do the bars have to be separated and not touching? Do I need to be turning them so all sides gets to be "aired"? Thanks for all help - I think I am hooked!
