I am new to soap making. Have had no problems till this last batch. A couple of minutes after pouring into wooden mold, it began foaming up until more than double in size. I ended up with mostly a goopy mess along with some hard crusty parts. Here is the recipe:
24 oz. Coconut oil
21.6 oz. Palm oil
2.4 oz. Neem oil
7.3 oz. lye
30 ml. chinese star anise oil

I made an identical batch using earth oil instead of anise oil and no problems with it. Any help identifying what went wrong would be greatly appreciated. Also, can I salvage what I have? Thanks, Ken
