Silky Shower Gel

How to Make Silky Shower Gel

How to make shower gel
This is a nice, easy on the skin Shower Gel. The preservative is built right into the recipe when you use our Aloe Liquid. There is enough of our commercial antimicrobial preservative in our Aloe Liquid to protect your recipe too!

The end product is quite thick and naturally a solid white color. It looks a lot like our lotion only thicker.

2.7 oz Soap Crafters Emulsifying Wax
18 oz water

12 ounces Super Concentrate
18 oz Soap Crafters Aloe Vera Liquid
3 ounces Glycerin
2 ounces Almond Oil
1/2 Teaspoon soapmaking Fragrance or Essential Oil (Optional)
20 Drops of a soap making Liquid Colorant (Optional)
1.2 ounces Humectant (Optional)

Put the almond oil with emulsifying wax and heat in a pot on stove until wax is melted. Remove from heat.

Add Water, Super Concentrate, Aloe Liquid, Almond Oil, and Humectant to a pot and heat to 120 degrees.
Mix Super Concentrate solution in with the melted wax mixture.
Use stick blender to mix until smooth. (A stick blender must be used to mix because hand stirring will not mix it properly.)

Mix for about 1 minute.
add Fragrance and liquid colorant.
Allow mixture to sit overnight before bottling to give the air time to escape and for it to thicken.

Makes six 8-ounce bottles of Shower Gel, with about 7 ounces left over.

NOTES:
If you add humectant, it will give your finished product an amber tint.
If you let wax & water solution go cold before you continue the recipe, you will need to reheat it to melt the emusifying wax. If the Emulsifying wax sets up again in the water then it will not emulsify the Super Concentrate and other ingredients. So, once you start this recipe, continue until you're finished.
