How to Make Soap & Lotion Videos

Keith Lyle
(actor in the movie "The Hangover") works with Pam at SoapCrafters.com to learn how to make bath fizzies for the first time.

You can also view recipes and tutorials for both lotions and soaps.

Working under great pressure of a talking parrot, unruly dog and not being given ALL the tools he needed to do the job, he makes great bath fizzies the first time out. At the end, Pam shows him and you how to shrink wrap them with shrink wrap bags and a hair dryer.

Actor and Stand-up Comedian, Jim Germano, learns to make soap with SoapCrafters.com. Pam Love at SoapCrafters.com gets Jim into the kitchen to make soap from scratch and some "Fight Club" movie references.
In this first episode:
"Safety glasses? Oh, guess I should have already put those on, then, huh?"
How to use your scale and how to mix lye to make soap from scratch.
Choking the comedian with lye fumes...Uh, quite unexpectedly.

How to Make Soap From Scratch

Comedian Jim Germano gets a little serious in this part as we get to the nitty gritty of soap making. We weigh and melt the oils and add the lye solution, all the while the dog is barking and the parrot is doing his best to get the dog to stop. You get an explanation of what soap is and where it actually comes from and some tips on temperatures to use and mixing, what the purpose of palm oil and coconut is and which is better to use in a soap recipe.

Comedian Jim Germano works with SoapCrafters.com learning how to make soap so, as he puts it, "Can clean up his act!" In this third and final episode, we show what 'trace' looks like and pour it into the molds. Just for good measure, we add some color to half the batch and marble the soap.

And now, teaching comedian Jim Germano how to make lotion!
Jim gets into the kitchen to make a shea butter lotion from scratch and basically do all the work. This video is spread over 4 parts, and this is the first part. As it turns out, you can teach a comic new tricks! The parrot and the dog caused only a little trouble in part one.

Topics covered in part one: why shea butter will go lumpy, how to properly use shea butter, the talking bird in the background is an African Grey and where Jim is performing lately.

In this part, we add more ingredients to the lotion recipe and discuss African Grey Parrots vs dolphins, who is smarter? The dog tries to get into the parrot cage and we lost the 2nd bottle of the aloe vera liquid.

In part three, Jim starts talking about dolphin sex and oils start smoking on the stove, we figured out we forgot almond oil and eventually start mixing the lotion.

Finally we have lotion in part four! Jim finds out what happens when you fill the bottles all the way up to the top. This part includes the recipe written down at the end. Unfortunately, the olive oil is missing in the video, so add that into your written recipe.
