How to Make Creamy Lip Balm

1-1/2 Tablespoons Beeswax
3/4 Tablespoon Cocoa Butter
1-1/2 Tablespoons Almond Oil or other nice liquid oil
3 Tablespoons Shea Butter
2-1/2 Tablespoons Mango Butter
1- 1/4 teaspoons Mint Soap Crafters Flavor Oil

Melt the Shea Butter and get it to 180. Keep its temp above 180 for 15 minutes. Add bee's wax. Remove from heat when wax is melted.
Add in the Mango Butter and cocoa butter. When that is melted, add the almond oil and flavoring. Stir well and then immediately fill the lip balm tubes and/or lip balm pots.

This recipe should make about 13 lip balm tubes.

Yes, it does. Sorry about

Yes, it does. Sorry about that, I fixed the recipe.

Beeswax

Does the beeswax come in after you have heated the Shea Butter to 180 for 15 min?

shaving mugs

why is it so hard to find a large shaving mug? most shaving soap is 3 1\2 in to 4 in in diam and most shaving mugs are 3in in dia any one know of a good site to get good mugs?

I don't know. It would still

I don't know. It would still be an awesome emollient, if it has other medicinal type qualities, I don't know. But it is necessary to heat it like that or else it'll be lumpy and grainy in your end product.

heating the shea

Does heating the shea butter for such a length of time deplete (can't think of another word to use here) the natural benefits of it?

You need to heat the shea

You need to heat the shea butter to 180 and keep it at 180 for about 15 minutes. Then add in the rest of your ingredients and continue with the recipe. I see this recipe is missing that last shea butter part. I'll fix that now.

Gritty

I made this recipe but mine turned out hard with a little grittiness. I have read shea butter can do that but I am wondering if there is a way to use shea without the grittiness???? I did heat to above 180 degrees if that helps.
