What's the easiest way to clean the milky way soap molds after making lotion bars in them? I'm noticing a very thin waxy layer left on the mold cavity and it makes my dish sponge kind of strange trying to scrub it off with soap and water.
Do not use hot water to wash any soap molds. This will warp the molds. The easiest way is to soak the molds in warm water for an hour or so, and then rinse. If there's any leftover residue,I rinse the molds with cider vinegar.

I soak mine first and then just normal hand washing.

It makes about 5.5 ounces.
It makes about 5.5 ounces. You just need to add up the ingredients in the recipe.
Sure, they pop right out of soap molds if you want to use molds. I make bath melts using guest soap molds. It is the same idea. It works great.

Sure, you can remelt it. The only issue might be if the recipe contains shea butter. The shea in a recipe might be grainy after melting, but cocoa butter would not be a problem.

Can I re-melt lotion bars of same ingredients and re-pour into my molds?
I think soap molds would be
I think soap molds would be fine for lotion bars.I'v tried different molds and I like the rubber molds like tupperware or rubber-maid works great.
Questions
A couple questions here...
About how much does that make, over all? And is it okay to use regular (plastic) soap molds with these? If so, will this product release as easily as soap does if I put it in the fridge for a while?
Just curious, as I like the bar idea better than liquid lotions. Much easier to package.
Packaging
I have just started and this is easy, love the lotion bars, waiting for my lip balm tubes to arrive to make lip balm.My question is on the lotion bars,if I wanted to wrap in something nice before putting in tins, what would it be and not to pick up oils on paper, also do I order 2 oz. molds and then 2 1/2 tins for pkg? Thanks Vicki
Just leave it out on the
Just leave it out on the counter and it'll start setting up within a few minutes. :) It should be completely set up in an hour or so. You could put it in the refrigerator if you want to hurry that along.
how long ?
How long does it take for it to set up completely?
Do you just leave out at rrom temp., or put in the fridge?
P.s. I'm new to all this :)

Sure, that would work also.

Vegan solid lotion bar recipe
I was thinking maybe to ncrease the liquid oils in the recipe. Maybe then it will soften a little. Do you think that will work.
Substituting liquid oils for
Substituting liquid oils for liquid oils really should not change anything n regards to hardness. If it is too stiff of a forumula, just cut back a little on the wax, or use bee's wax instead - but the full amount for bee's wax.
Some like it harder if they are carrying it around in the summer heat.
Vegan Lotion Bar
Okay now. I have used this recipe and have a bar that is very hard. Is that the way it is suppose to be? I am using it in a muffin pan as a mold. Giv eme some feedback someone please. I did substitute the almond oil for jojoba, and the olive oil for avocado oil. Do you think that is the problem?
