Goat's Milk Body Butter

.33oz liquid glycerin
1 oz stearic acid
1.6 oz ewax
0.8 mango butter
1 oz avocado oil
0.7 oz jojoba oil
1 oz apricot kernel oil
1 oz soy oil
13 oz distilled water
5.4 oz aloe liquid
8.8 oz pasteurized goat's milk
1 tsp vitamin e
½ tsp blue lilac fragrance (if desired)

Other needed items:
scale
4, 8 oz salve jars
Stick Blender

Put the first 9 ingredients (liquid glycerin to the aloe) in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 3 minutes. While it is microwaving, pour the goat's milk into a glass measuring cup.

After the 3 minutes stir the mixture and then put the bowl and the measuring cup with the goat's milk into the microwave. Heat on high for 2 minutes. Take the containers out of the microwave and check them. You want to heat until all the ingredients are melted (about 5-10 minutes depending on your microwave).

The ingredients in your bowl will look milky when they have melted completely. Do not heat to boiling. The goat's milk will also feel quite warm.

When the first nine ingredients have melted and the goat's milk is warm, mix the aloe in with the goat's milk. Now you're ready to mix!

Put the warm goat's milk and aloe into the melted mixture and mix with a stick blender or hand mixer for about 2 minutes. Let mixture sit for about 10 minutes then stick blend it for about 2 minutes. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes then blend for 1 minute. About this time it should be starting to get thick and creamy. Let it sit for another five minutes and then blend in the vitamin e, preservative and fragrance. Spoon into jars.

A preservative is not necessary if you use Soap Crafters' Aloe Liquid because our Aloe Liquid has all the antimicrobial that is needed in the recipe.

I would replace all the water

I would replace all the water with Aloe Liquid.

How much more aloe would you

How much more aloe would you recommend?

I'm not sure on this one. It

I'm not sure on this one. It was written by a former employee and it looks to me that there isn't enough aloe liquid in there to protect this recipe. So you would need to keep it in the refrigerator or add an antimicrobial to keep bacteria, mold and yeast from growing in it.

How Long Will This Last?

Just curious what the approximate shelf-life of this is? Thanks!

Thanks

That was exactly the problem----the container I had it in was not heating--put it in glass and perfect---thank you I was about to toss this recipe!!!!

I wasn't the one who wrote

I wasn't the one who wrote the recipe, but I'll guess the issue is that all the ingredients need to be about the same temperature in order for the emulsifying wax to work.

Also, it will need to be probably about 120 degrees to keep the emulsifying wax liquid when you mix it together.

GOAT'S MILK LOTION

I have thrown 2 batches out because it would not set--does the glycerin and aloe go in with the first 9 ingredients I know it says add the glycerin to the aloe--I have no idea first I made a batch with evaporated goat's milk it actually turned out then the last 1 with pasteurized, just too liquid......
