Essential oil of clove has anesthetic and anti microbial qualities, and is sometimes used to eliminate bad breath or to ameliorate the pain of a bad tooth. It, or its main component eugenol, is used by dentists to anesthetize the gum before injecting Novocain or similar anesthetics, and is the characteristic odor of a dentist's office. Clove Oil is also applied to Japanese sword blades to prevent tarnishing of the polished surface.

Clove Bud Essential oil may or may not be safe for use on the skin. Please consult a reliable essential oil book or aroma therapist. This is NOT Clove LEAF oil.
