Make creamy, dreamy lotion and rich “whipped” cream without the hassle… no scales or thermometers needed!

Simply Delightful Lotion

You will need:

A stick blender

2 cups of Soap Crafters Aloe Liquid
3 T mango butter
1 T each of jojoba, almond, avocado & apricot kernel oils
2 tsp liquid glycerin
¾ tsp vitamin E
2 T stearic acid
8 tsp emulsifying wax
½ tsp CitricAcid
¼ to ½ tsp soap making fragrance
8 drops liquid colorant

This recipe does not need a preservative because there is enough professional antimicrobial in the Aloe Liquid to protect your lotion from growing mold, bacteria and yeast.

Combine everything except color and fragrance in a glass bowl. Heat in the microwave until all the ingredients are melted (about 5-10 minutes depending on your microwave). It will look milky when it has melted completely. Do not heat to boiling.
Stir it well to make sure all the ingredients have melted. If there are any un-melted ingredients, microwave for another minute or so until melted. Do not heat over 130 degrees. To heat hotter will kill off the antimicrobial.

Blend with a stick blender for 2 minutes.
Hand stir for one minute and then stick blend for 2 more minutes. Add fragrance and color if desired.
Let it sit for 20 minutes. Stick blend for 1 minute and then pour into bottles.
After it has cooled completely (about 40 more minutes) put pumps or lids on the bottles.

Ultra Rich “whipped” Cream
You will need:
A stick blender

¾ c distilled water
1 T each of Hemp & avocado oils
1 T mango butter

1 ½ tsp liquid glycerin
½ tsp vitamin E
1 T stearic acid
4 tsp emulsifying wax
¼ tsp CitricAcid
1/8 to 1/4 tsp soap making Fragrance Oil
5 drops Liquid Colorant

The appropriate amount of your favorite preservative. If you use our Aloe Liquid in place of the distilled water, your product is protected without using any additional preservative.

Combine everything except color and fragrance in a *sterilized glass bowl. Heat in the microwave until all the ingredients are melted (about 3 minutes depending on your microwave). It will look milky when it has melted completely. Do not heat to boiling.
Stir it well to make sure all the ingredients have melted. If there are any un-melted ingredients, microwave for another minute or so until melted.
Blend with a stick blender for 2 minutes and then hand stir for one minute. Add fragrance and color if desired.
Let it sit for 20 minutes. Stick blend for 1 minute and then pour into *Sterile jars.
After it has cooled completely (about 30 more minutes) put lids on the jars.

* When making lotion without our Aloe Liquid or a preservative it is very important to have all your equipment and jars sterile. Most dishwashers are hot enough to do the job, but if you don’t have a dishwasher or if you are in doubt, sterilize with boiling water or a water/bleach solution.
