Citric acid is made from citrus fruits and it is a necessary ingredient in making bath bombs, or bath fizzies. It is the chemical reaction between the citric acid and baking soda that makes it fizz. It is not deadly like it sounds, it is actually a food ingredient. Commercial lemon aide is made with citric acid and it is a common ingredient in tart candies and cookies. It also does a great job cleaning soap scum off of shower tiles, and removing build up in dish washer and washing machines!
Stearic acid has many uses, mainly in candle making and in lotion making. When making lotions, stearic acid thickens up the forumula and makes a more stiff lotion or cream. .
